The designs showcased in the Hyperbola collection are produced and crafted with innovative materials, reflecting the splendor and exceptional expertise of Swarovski. The Hyperbola collection, consisting of a ring, a bracelet, and three earrings, features carbon-neutral certified Swarovski Zirconia and pieces made from recycled metal, all without compromising on design and quality. The Swarovski Zirconia, produced using renewable energy, emits 58% less carbon emissions compared to traditional zirconia, with the remaining 42% being balanced. The carbon footprint and balancing rate of Swarovski Zirconia were measured by South Pole, a climate consultancy organization and partner of the brand. The calculated CO2 impact was offset by using high-quality carbon credits, which were later directed towards the Huóshui Small Hydropower Plant in Southwest China to bring renewable energy to remote areas and the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve in Borneo, Indonesia, to support protection against deforestation. The use of recycled metal (at least 90%) in production reduces the use of natural raw materials and contributes to the reprocessing of valuable resources, further minimizing the environmental impact of Swarovski products. This new launch is just a small part of Swarovski’s long journey to reduce its environmental impact and represents one of the first steps taken by the brand to make all Swarovski Zirconia products carbon neutral. In 2021, Swarovski joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 47% and Scope 3 emissions by 28% by 2030. The Swarovski Hyperbola collection will be available for purchase in Swarovski stores and the online store starting from April 3, 2023.
